Happy Women's Day 🌸
My dearest girls, on this special day, our day, I came here to write a few lines 🌸
Today I have already received many wonderful messages, but there was one that said it all perfectly and I am going to share it with you. It's from my dear client and friend Patrícia Fallon, an inspiring woman.
“Happy Women's Day!
It’s not just a date for flowers or pretty words. It's a reminder of something deeper: the silent strength that moves families, builds businesses, heals wounds, and still finds time to love.
To be a woman is to carry courage on difficult days, wisdom in decisions, and sensitivity to transform entire environments. The world moves forward because there are women who don’t give up, who fight, who care, and who believe.
Today we celebrate women. But, in truth, their worth deserves to be recognized every day. 🌷”
And this is my message to you today:
🌸 To Be a Woman… every day
I woke up with a full heart, thinking of you. On Women's Day, it’s impossible not to remember so many moments I've experienced in our shop… and so many incredible women who have passed through it.
Do you know something? When I opened the shop, so many years ago, I never imagined that a clothing store could also become a space for conversations, confidences, and sharing. I've seen it all: tears, laughter, important decisions, and even those purchases made to celebrate a new phase of life.
I remember one day, a few years ago, when a client came into the shop looking a bit down. She told me she had been through a difficult phase and needed to do something for herself. She tried on a dress… then another… and, when she finally looked in the mirror wearing one of them, she smiled. One of those smiles that say everything without needing words.
At that moment, she told me:
“Carla, today I really needed this.”
And do you know what I thought?
That sometimes it’s not the clothes that change a woman — it’s the way she looks at herself again.
That’s why I still love what I do. Because the shop was never just about fashion. It has always been about self-esteem, confidence, and celebrating who you are.
To be a woman is to be many things at once: strong, sensitive, a fighter, a caregiver… and so often we forget to take care of ourselves amidst it all.
So, today I leave you with a small challenge: look at yourselves with the same affection you look at others.
Whenever you feel like pampering yourselves, you know I’ll always be available to welcome you, in the shop or even on WhatsApp. Questions, advice, a coffee, anything… I'm not just Carla the entrepreneur, I'm also a friend and advisor, if needed, because not everything is about sales.
Because the truth is: I love it when you walk in the door and leave even more beautiful and confident than when you arrived.
Thank you for being part of this story and for following Carla Valente over so many years.
These last few years have been a bit turbulent, but what doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I've lost count of how many people have come and gone from the shop, but I'm always there. A few days ago, I found myself talking to ChatGPT, a free psychologist always available at any time.
In the middle of the conversation, GPT said that from 2024 until now there has been, in all areas, an enormous difficulty in hiring, because the new generation is a generation of influencers. Everyone wants to take the easiest path, they are not resilient, they want to be social media entrepreneurs, inspirers of a fantasy life…
Professions like factory seamstresses, plumbers, or the so-called "handymen" are practically on the verge of extinction. The few that exist are already old, and few young people are interested in them.
What I mean by this is that I am a traditionalist and, as long as I can, I will always defend traditional commerce, where you can come in, talk, exchange ideas, and I will be here to listen and help you. You bring a little of yourselves, you take a little of me 🌸
I wish you a very happy Women's Day, full of love, confidence, and special moments.
A big kiss to your hearts.
With affection,
Carla Valente
